The Modern Prairie was built around the clients non-negotiables: a timeless design with a wrap around deck and views from their bedroom. To achieve this, the house was designed with four levels around an updated prairie aesthetic. The first level has the Garage and Mudroom, the second level is an open-concept living space which is connected to the wrap-around deck, the third level has the kids bedrooms and the fourth level has the Primary Suite with mountain views. From oversized windows which floods the home with natural light to the covered outdoor deck, this custom build truly checks all the boxes for an elevated Alaskan lifestyle.

Situated at the base of Mount Alyeska, our clients were inspired to custom build a modern house around their family's love for the mountains. The original house was lifted up 10' to create a basement, to accommodate their growing family. The house is centered around large Great Room windows, that picture frame the slopes and illuminates the interior steel framing and soaring vaulted wood ceilings. The mixture of natural wood, concrete and steel, within the canopy of the rainforest, enhances the home’s appeal.
