Situated at the base of Mount Alyeska, our clients were inspired to custom build a modern house around their family's love for the mountains. The original house was lifted up 10' to create a basement, to accommodate their growing family. The house is centered around large Great Room windows, that picture frame the slopes and illuminates the interior steel framing and soaring vaulted wood ceilings. The mixture of natural wood, concrete and steel, within the canopy of the rainforest, enhances the home’s appeal.
ALPINE ROOST
Alpine Roost is designed to be nestled into the hillside in order to take advantage of all the unique views that the Anchorage Bowl has to offer. The vaulted Great Room, Dining Room and Kitchen are all aligned and positioned to the West- having vantage points of the inlet and the Aleutian Mountains from every corner. Its exposed rafters, covered outdoor porch and expansive outdoor deck creates an indoor/outdoor environment that can be enjoyed throughout all the Alaskan seasons.
